My Next Tattoo

Hello worldwide readers! Feel free to browse around my blog for a wide-ranging list of topics and interesting perspectives on said topics. As many of you know, I am in the middle of a money drought mostly due to my upcoming wedding in less than four weeks. Then in short order afterwards, Christmas shall be here. Hopefully by February or March I will be able to dig out from under the associated debts for these two events or at least that is my plan. At that time (February-March) I hope to get back in the tattoo chair for some new body art and the blood-letting experience that goes with it.

Blogging during Autumn 2018

Good morning! Today is Wednesday, October 17th. Officially today is day number 25 of Autumn or Fall if you prefer. Pumpkin spice everything is all about and the temps are finally in the 40’s-50’s-60’s. The days are getting shorter and trying to escape the warm bed in the morning to stumble about in the darkness to get ready for work is becoming quite the chore. My mental outlook is getting so critical that I’ve started throwing in a couple of dollars to the Mega Millions lotto crazy pool – presently the Jackpot is estimated at $868,000,000 for the Friday drawing. With that kind of money I could finance a Pitbull music video or something as equally frivolous! Continue reading “Blogging during Autumn 2018”

Cleveland Indians: Playoffs Woes and No’s

zombie indian

Here we are again friends. To steal a cute little thing from the local St Louis sports people, the panic bus is gassed up and accepting new passengers. Today is Monday, October 8th. My Indians play game three of their series with the Houston Astros today in Cleveland…and if they don’t find a way to win, their 2018 postseason will amount to the same amount of postseason wins as the Baltimore Orioles.

If we could rewind to last year in game three of the Indians first round series (versus the New York Yankees) in New York for a moment please. The scene: My Indians were trailing 1-0 in the sixth inning when Francisco Lindor hit a sure-fire two-run homerun to right center field. There was just one problem. A six foot seven inch problem with a long arm and the ability to jump a little. Of course I’m speaking of Aaron Judge of the Yankees. His defensive thievery cost the Indians two runs and potentially the game and after that who knows. Continue reading “Cleveland Indians: Playoffs Woes and No’s”

10-5 Good Buddy!

Cleveland_Indians_logo.svg_

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today is Friday, October 5th. Today begins the postseason path for my Cleveland Indians. As always I am hopeful that my team with be blessed with good fortune, as all dedicated fans hope I’m sure. They are pitted against the defending World Champions, the Houston Astros. Right now they have a one in four chance to make it to the World Series from the American League side. If this is to be THE YEAR, they are certainly going to have to earn it. Standing in their way immediately are the Houston Astros (defending champs). If they should advance, they would play the winner of the Boston Red Sox (best team in the regular season) and New York Yankees (3rd best team in the regular season behind Boston and Houston). As tasks go, this one couldn’t get any more daunting. If they survive the gauntlet of 100 win AL teams, then there is the final test in the World Series against the National League representative. The goal is 11 wins and there are no style points. Any of the 8 teams still alive will gladly take any and all ugly wins they can get. To navigate through the Division series into the League Championship series and finally into the World Series takes a team with great fortitude, talent and a little bit of luck. It’s been two years since my Indians were agonizingly close in that 2016 World Series with the Cubs (after blowing a 3-1 series lead). They got to 10 wins that year…this year I am hoping beyond hope that they make it to 11. We shall see.

Peace.

Customizing Your Heaven

Good day to one and all! Hopefully this Friday finds you in good spirits, good health and able to buy one or more items on minimal cost that are enjoyable to be consumed!

As it so happens I was recently attending a baseball game for the Major League Baseball team the St Louis Cardinals. My ticket for entry was given to me for free (which is always nice) and I was able to attend the game with some of the Halbrook family. After going through the stadium’s security ritual, where I was declared safe to enter, I ran into a friend I know through softball. My softball buddy’s name is Patrick and his son Austin was there as well. I have known both of them for a while; I even attended Patrick’s wedding reception earlier this year. Upon seeing Patrick and Austin, we shot the breeze (talked) for a bit before I wandered away to visit the men’s room on the way to my seat for the night. As far as the location of my seat goes, it was pretty good. We were situated about 10-15 rows back from the right field foul pole with a pretty decent view of the playing field and stadium as a whole. Ray Halbrook was delayed entering the stadium with some electronics but later he joined me at our seats. Eventually (about halfway through the game) Jeremy and his dad also joined us. Cleveland Indians vs the AL Playoff Contenders

Cleveland_Indians_logo.svg_

Hello! I am an avid follower of my Cleveland Indians, sometimes much to my chagrin. I usually do a piece once or twice per season to ‘break down’ my team’s performance and spotlight where I see concerns heading into the Hunt for October Gold. Many, many years ago I swore a personal oath that I would get a tattoo to commemorate if/when the Indians would win a World Series title in my lifetime. As of this writing, I have no such tattoo…but I’m ever hopeful. And for the record, it will be a full color or black and white rendering of Chief Wahoo. Those people who are offended by a cartoon rendering of an Indian or think that the depiction is offensive…get a clue and a life. I will not apologize for my stance on this topic and you can Google my other pieces that I’ve written detailing why the cartoon image should be left alone. Game of Thrones – Season 8 (my guesses) at Spoilers

GOTBooks

OK so here it is, my official spoilers for Season 8! And when I say official spoilers…I know nothing of what is to come. Except Winter of course, Winter is definitively coming!

What gets you excited?

america

Happy Friday! Today the calendar reads (not really, it’s an inanimate object after all) Friday, September 7th. On this date in history many, many things occurred! For instance, the city of Boston, Massachusetts was founded 388 years ago (1630). This is legit because Columbus quasi-discovered America in 1492 so it should be pretty accurate. According to the web, Interpol was formed in Vienna in 1923…kind of important. In 1979, the Entertain and Sports Programming Network (ESPN) makes its debut. Mark Whiten, of the St Louis Cardinals hits 4 homeruns and has 12 RBI’s in the second game of a double header in 1993. Sadly in 2011 a plane crashes in Russia killing 43 people aboard including the entire roster of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl Kontinental Hockey League team.

What Do You Have To Be Stressed About?

So I’m asking this for a friend. Actually no I’m not. Because frankly the question is intrusive and kind of rude.

Hi there to my repeat readers and also those who are discovering my blog for the first time! For those new readers who have not read much (if any) of my blog posts, let me just preface this introduction by stating that usually I take a topic and expound upon it as it affects me on a primal level. There is not too much continuity or a universally unifying theme for my posts except that I am giving my unsolicited two cents worth on an issue or subject. August 2nd – The day after the 1st…

mushu

Good day! Thank you for reading today’s blog post or posts…depending upon how motivated I let myself get. For those intently wondering, there are still no leaked reports to the interweb about a possible Snakes on a Plane 2 movie script or Broadway hopeful play script. I’ve tried to leak one myself but the web at large has categorically rejected it. C’mon how hard can that script be to do? The first one got made and the premise there was toilet paper weak. Dead Space Four

Dead_Space_4_open

Good morning or afternoon or twilight or darkness hours or whatever suits your present time situation. We collectively have edged into the second half of the month of July. This year has seemed to fly by quite quickly. Sometimes that is a good thing. There are people in the world healing from sickness and injuries and of course time is needed for that process to move along. For those with accrual time off systems through their workplace, that is also good so they can get more time off or eek out the time left until their time off ‘bank’ is replenished. (Raises hand) This last one is near and dear to my heart I must sadly report. Continue reading “Dead Space Four”

Tuesday July 3rd…I think it was the fourth of July

Good day! I was listening to the Chicago tune, Saturday in the Park on the way into work this morning. Great tune. They don’t make music like that anymore.

Fun fact: Although this song was recorded in the fall of 1971, it was released to radio in July 1972…which was right after I was born! Crazy feeling old! But regardless it’s a great song. Every day’s the fourth of July… Continue reading “Tuesday July 3rd…I think it was the fourth of July”

Jurassic Tuesday

Good afternoon!

Tonight I am supposed to drive to the stadium to see my Indians play the Cardinals but Mother Nature seems a bit weepy so the game may be delayed or postponed. If such should happen, my backup plan would be to see Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom again!  Continue reading “Jurassic Tuesday”

Oh Captain, My Captain…GOAL!

Happy Friday and joyous Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Day to you! As most of the free world is engrossed with the FIFA World Cup (First In, First Asleep?), I was searching Netflix and Hulu streaming services for Jurassic Park or similar movies to have on as background noise at work. With the exception of the Lego version of Jurassic World, I struck out. For those regular readers of my blog, you already know my feelings on the Lego movies and their toys. Regular building block Legos are fine but all the Lego ships and beasts that just lose pieces or get de-constructed makes them be pointless in my opinion! And as far as the Lego movies go, just make them ‘real’ animation or don’t. There is no need to block the characters up in a Lego-like semblance – it’s not needed! Continue reading “Oh Captain, My Captain…GOAL!”
