Hello to one and all! Officially we are on day four of 2019. How are you feeling? Anything change for you besides the calendar? For me I started a new employment position…and so far it is great!
OK so here it is, my official spoilers for Season 8! And when I say official spoilers…I know nothing of what is to come. Except Winter of course, Winter is definitively coming!
Happy Friday! Today the calendar reads (not really, it’s an inanimate object after all) Friday, September 7th. On this date in history many, many things occurred! For instance, the city of Boston, Massachusetts was founded 388 years ago (1630). This is legit because Columbus quasi-discovered America in 1492 so it should be pretty accurate. According to the web, Interpol was formed in Vienna in 1923…kind of important. In 1979, the Entertain and Sports Programming Network (ESPN) makes its debut. Mark Whiten, of the St Louis Cardinals hits 4 homeruns and has 12 RBI’s in the second game of a double header in 1993. Sadly in 2011 a plane crashes in Russia killing 43 people aboard including the entire roster of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl Kontinental Hockey League team.
Here is what I posted on my Facebook account today for giggles:
Can anyone give directions to Braavos? Someone needs to travel there to begin training as a Faceless Man. Asking for a friend…
Hello! Today is May 22nd 2018 A.D.
As of the writing of this blog post I have seen up through season 7 episode 1 of The Game of Thrones HBO series. There are six more episodes on the DVDs at home if I recall correctly. For the avid fans, you are probably like “what the heck is taking you so long to finish those?” While I do enjoy the series, I will admit I find the seasons to be a grueling grind at times. So often the show’s writers revel in killing off characters, after it took so much effort for me to finally appreciate them for their badness or goodness. It is reasonable to understand that the loss of a notable character creates drama and impact, but sometimes the deaths and innumerable weddings tend to blend together in an inevitable conveyor belt process that chafes just as pressing exposed skin against a cycling belt sander ribbon.
Sometimes when I get a little bored and have a few extra dollars to spend, I peruse on-line shopping websites such as Amazon, Ebay and to a lesser extent Facebook and Craigslist. The latter two I have had mostly negative experiences; either from trying to my sell my items or trying to purchase items that turned out to be damaged or not accurately portrayed in their descriptions or their pictures.
But the other two shopping choices (Amazon and Ebay), I have had mostly positive experiences. In my opinion, I think this is because these two websites offer some sort of buyer protection that the former two really do not (except social media vigilante justice enforcement (jokingly kidding)). An aspect of Ebay and Amazon that can addict the buyer a bit is ‘suggested’ items based on the items you searched or bought. Looking at a PS4? How about these PS4 games? Or how about a classic Nintendo 64 system? Or a Super Mario inflatable costume for Halloween? Or a Freddy Krueger talking Frisbee? The purchasing possibilities are endless!
Recently I purchased a replica 1984 WWF Hulk Hogan title belt (not the real deal but still nifty!), the first seasons of Game of Thrones (DVD not Blu-ray) and a couple Linkin Park CD’s. This buying activity occurred while I was looking for…actually I don’t remember what I was looking for. But it doesn’t matter because every once in a while you just need to mindlessly blow off some financial steam with a completely un-necessary purchase to support our free commerce system.
Hopefully everyone is enjoying their Monday and avoiding drama and controversy. If you are interested in controversy and shenanigans, please Google search my podcast using the search terms: ‘podbean’ and ‘the freak show’. As usual you can find me on Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr.
Have a Monday that compares to the greatest Mondays of all-time!! #GOATMonday
