I’m slowly scanning the living room of my home. Nothing. Nothing around me looks anything like my sophomore English classroom of 1987. But yet, here we are. A very small handful of people on social media might remember me from Grandview High School. Of that tiny handful, probably only one or two may have been with me during that fateful day in the fall of 1987.
For what this is worth (easy, lazy post on blog for postsakes), here are some images that have been captured on my desktop for your judgment/consideration of revulsion:
Every so often I need to clean up my laptop desktop area. In doing so I tend to notice quite a bit has accumulated there. For your review and judgement, I present the most recent weeks worth of clutter. Enjoy. Stay safe out there.
Good afternoon! Welcome to my blog. For reasons unknown, my brain woke me up in the middle of the night last night. After bouncing around some other trivial topics, it locked onto this meme I have seen on Facebook about a dozen times. The meme shows a nice-looking log cabin surrounded by trees or adjacent to a lake surrounded by trees with the caption:
Could you stay here for one month with no phone or internet for $100,000?
So over the years of doing my blog, I have sometimes chirped in on trending topics or important occurrences. With the Election Year ‘lockdown’ of 2020 for the Corona virus, how could I not at least put down a bread crumb marker for later? Hopefully the events and tragedies surrounding this version of the virus (Covid-19) are a one-time, once in a lifetime happening. Obviously for those who lost their lives to the virus, it will be but for the rest of us let’s hope to never see this kind of sadness and selfishness again.
So new year and new stuff. As it is currently winter in this hemisphere, the weather is cold and mostly forbidding to be outside although not as harsh as some years. For most winters I tend to spend quite a bit of time inside…and eating. This year is no different. The scale reading of my weight in Earth pounds backs up this claim most egregiously.
Hello! Thank you for dropping in on my tiny slice of cyber-where. This will be my final blog post…this year. I’ve included some rando pictures of silly stuffs. I anticipate much will change in 2020…and some things will not. What will those changes look like, it’s hard to say at the moment. But like most things in life, you can jump into the surf and wade out to meet them or just wait on the shore to see if the repercussions will be impactful.
So back on June 24th, 2019 (the day after my birthday) and twelve days before I had my heart attack, I wrote a piece detailing the horrific experiments done in the hollow name of science on living, breathing and AWAKE cats and kittens. Writing the piece and thinking about the psychopathic practices of a organization touting itself as an institution of higher learning, made me physically ill. I’m not exaggerating or joking one bit either.
Normally I can infuse some levity and silliness into my posts but there was zero to joke about on this topic. The facts pertaining to their experiments and flawed research was something out of a Mary Shelley novel…only cruelly worse. In this day and age of iPad simulations and medical Virtual Reality technology, the thought of so-called ‘educated people’ to still be bumbling along like researcher neanderthals is tragic and shameful.
Yesterday I received an e-mail notification regarding an on-line petition I signed protesting SUNY University. The petition update alleged that SUNY University has finally ceased this abhorrent practice that they have been perpetrating for over three decades! I truly hope this is accurate. Now I can shift my focus to try to get the powers that be at SUNY to have a conscience and have them donate food and litter to shelters in need for their cat/kitten populace. I doubt they will have any remorse and aim to make any amends but all I can do it try.
Everyone please love one another and of course your furry friends as we approach Thanksgiving. Check back often for more posts or if you are so inclined, give my podcast (The Freak Show on Soundcloud) a listen.
What are you wearing?
Hmm. That came across a bit more creepy than I intended. I just meant, are you wearing a costume for the holiday? I did! See below!
And for giggles, here are some other Halloween costumes over the years. Try to guess the age and who I am just for fun!
Feel free to message me for feedback or if you think of a topic I should tackle!
Good day and thank you for reading at least this post…if not more? 😀
Activity-wise, in June 2019 I posted six times and that has been one of my more busy posting months. Since then, a span of 121 days (through today), I have posted less than a half dozen times. It is not for a lack of wanting to that is for sure. There have been at least two dozen times where I had an idea or partially formed concept flash across my brain only to have it wither on the imaginary vine and eventually blow away like smoke into the creative mist. Drats!
Often times I include a riddle in my post titles to try to see if my readers can step through some logically illogical process to determine the genesis of my idea/inspiration. Today’s title along with it’s flavoring comes to me/you/us by the way of statistics.
The last time (month) I had this many visitors/readers to my blog was in April 2018. That’s like 18 months ago! In that particular month I posted six times. So far this month, before today, I had posted zero times. For the entire year of 2018 I posted 108 times! In the first six months of this year (prior to my heart attack in early July), I had only posted 19 times. With the year quickly draining away, there is minimal chance that I will be able to eclipse the 100 post threshold. If you would have asked me at the beginning of the year if I could’ve surpassed 100 posts for the year, I would have said it would be a cake walk. Alas, as we sit here today – no dice.
Just for giggles, let me throw out a few other silly numbers. My lowest monthly total of visitors/readers occurred in November 2014 (71). Inversely, my highest number of monthly visitors/readers happened in August 2016 (529). In my first year blogging (2013), I had a total of 333 views. I expect to eclipse that number for the month of October alone by noon tomorrow. But we shall see.
Everyone who comes here and scrolls through my posts and stays for a read or two – I thank you! Have a great last few days here in October!
Every so often I like to grab a snapshot of the random images that have accumulated on my computer desktop and post them on here. The purpose is two-fold:
One, I get to use the collage feature. And two, by posting these random and unrelated picture, I want to try to make my readers venture a guess as to why I was looking at/downloading each photo. So with that put out into our universe…let’s go!
Everyone have a spooky and ghoulish good week! Blah Blah Blah! (said in the voice of an old-time Count Dracula!)

As I’ve admitted on my podcast (The Freak Show podcast on Podbean), these days I’m more of a casual St Louis Blues fan. I’m not going to be a phony and say that I’ve been living and dying with each game of the Blues since my first game experience back in 1980. Continue reading “St Louis Blues Capture the Cup (Lord Stanley’s Cup that is!)”
I have returned from Cancun Mexico, where the temperatures were anywhere from 79 degrees in the evening/morning to about 87-88 at their apex during the days, to here in St Louis where the temperature this morning was 6 degrees and there are remnants of snow and ice all about. It is truly a wonder…and freezing!
Please check out my personal website via Google. If you can find that, all else will follow! Have a great week and let’s connect again soon!
P.S. When I wrote this and recorded my podcast I thought the date was March 5th when in this reality…it is only March 4th! Plus all temperatures above are in Fahrenheit, not Celsius like the temps are noted in Cancun!
