Squirm!

Hello!

Squirm_movie_1976

In a recent podcast (The Freak Show on the Podbean app) from this month, I mentioned a “B” horror movie from the early 1980’s featuring thousands of worms taking out their aggression on the human race when a downed power line sends immeasurable amounts of electricity into the wet ground. Little did I know, until I Googled it, but this movie was actually from 1976! Sorry for the inaccuracy!

My Next Tattoo

Hello worldwide readers! Feel free to browse around my blog for a wide-ranging list of topics and interesting perspectives on said topics. As many of you know, I am in the middle of a money drought mostly due to my upcoming wedding in less than four weeks. Then in short order afterwards, Christmas shall be here. Hopefully by February or March I will be able to dig out from under the associated debts for these two events or at least that is my plan. At that time (February-March) I hope to get back in the tattoo chair for some new body art and the blood-letting experience that goes with it.

Blogging during Autumn 2018

Good morning! Today is Wednesday, October 17th. Officially today is day number 25 of Autumn or Fall if you prefer. Pumpkin spice everything is all about and the temps are finally in the 40’s-50’s-60’s. The days are getting shorter and trying to escape the warm bed in the morning to stumble about in the darkness to get ready for work is becoming quite the chore. My mental outlook is getting so critical that I’ve started throwing in a couple of dollars to the Mega Millions lotto crazy pool – presently the Jackpot is estimated at $868,000,000 for the Friday drawing. With that kind of money I could finance a Pitbull music video or something as equally frivolous! Continue reading “Blogging during Autumn 2018”

Cleveland Indians: Playoffs Woes and No’s

zombie indian

Here we are again friends. To steal a cute little thing from the local St Louis sports people, the panic bus is gassed up and accepting new passengers. Today is Monday, October 8th. My Indians play game three of their series with the Houston Astros today in Cleveland…and if they don’t find a way to win, their 2018 postseason will amount to the same amount of postseason wins as the Baltimore Orioles.

If we could rewind to last year in game three of the Indians first round series (versus the New York Yankees) in New York for a moment please. The scene: My Indians were trailing 1-0 in the sixth inning when Francisco Lindor hit a sure-fire two-run homerun to right center field. There was just one problem. A six foot seven inch problem with a long arm and the ability to jump a little. Of course I’m speaking of Aaron Judge of the Yankees. His defensive thievery cost the Indians two runs and potentially the game and after that who knows. Continue reading “Cleveland Indians: Playoffs Woes and No’s”

10-5 Good Buddy!

Cleveland_Indians_logo.svg_

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today is Friday, October 5th. Today begins the postseason path for my Cleveland Indians. As always I am hopeful that my team with be blessed with good fortune, as all dedicated fans hope I’m sure. They are pitted against the defending World Champions, the Houston Astros. Right now they have a one in four chance to make it to the World Series from the American League side. If this is to be THE YEAR, they are certainly going to have to earn it. Standing in their way immediately are the Houston Astros (defending champs). If they should advance, they would play the winner of the Boston Red Sox (best team in the regular season) and New York Yankees (3rd best team in the regular season behind Boston and Houston). As tasks go, this one couldn’t get any more daunting. If they survive the gauntlet of 100 win AL teams, then there is the final test in the World Series against the National League representative. The goal is 11 wins and there are no style points. Any of the 8 teams still alive will gladly take any and all ugly wins they can get. To navigate through the Division series into the League Championship series and finally into the World Series takes a team with great fortitude, talent and a little bit of luck. It’s been two years since my Indians were agonizingly close in that 2016 World Series with the Cubs (after blowing a 3-1 series lead). They got to 10 wins that year…this year I am hoping beyond hope that they make it to 11. We shall see.

Peace.
