Chief Wahoo and The Cleveland Indians

Hello and welcome to my blog.

As many of my friends and readers know, I am a Cleveland Indians baseball fan. I have said on numerous occasions that I would get a tattoo of Chief Wahoo when the Indians win the World Series. The best chances of that happening may have been in 2016 and 2017. But this week, the evil overlord of Major League Baseball, Darth Manfred finally coerced the ownership of the Cleveland Indians to abandon the Chief Wahoo logo in favor of the scripted ‘I’ or a ‘C’ permanently starting in 2019. So this is our last hurrah as Jake Taylor would say.

The day is over before it has begun…

Does this happen to you? You wake up and your entire day is gone. When I say gone I mean that as soon as you wake up, the entire day is already planned and accounted for from start to finish. That is me some days and those are difficult days to muck my way through in my opinion. On a more stressful scale, I can only imagine what professional athletes or musical performers go through with waking up, working out, doing necessary obligations and then performing at the end of each night. Now multiple that scenario by months and you can kind of see why Britney Spears decided to go all psycho self-barber all those years ago. It can be a hollow feeling sometimes even if the day is filled with enjoyable activities. I like having a chunk of time or an entire day where there is nothing really imminent; I relish those valleys of activity.

Today is Thursday morning and I am surfing online trying to find a reasonably cheap but long term writing computer. No gaming, just something to plug away with to type up my stories (in Microsoft Word) and maybe have a browser window open in the background if I need to research something quickly.

NFL Predictions – AFC/NFC Championship Weekend

For giggles I have been making ‘picks’ based on the betting odds for the NFL for the last two weekends (Wildcard and Divisional rounds). Here are my results for the last weekend and my predictions that should equate to the two teams who will appear in the Superbowl (with Justin Timberlake at the halftime show).

NFL Divisional Round – Weekend 1-13 & 1-14-2018

After having a decent weekend ‘picking’ the NFL Wildcard Weekend games, I thought I would press my luck and do it again this week for the Divisional Round. Podcast Thursday

1-11. How about 1-11-111? What is this some sort of code? Oh 01-11-2018. I’m with ya now.

Today is podcast Thursday! So far today I have been listening to a few different podcasts including my own. Some of you may be asking: why do I listen to my own podcast? Well for a couple of reasons. First off I want to make sure the audio levels are decent and there isn’t too much secondary noise or whatnot that is detracting from the listening quality of the show. Second, I want to see if the show has flow and decent content. Yes I tend to map out topics beforehand and obviously I am the only one talking about them but you are never sure how external stimuli affect the logical flow and delivery of the material. And lastly, I am trying to make sure each show is a little bit different and not just a rehash of the same old thing from show to show. Being able to introduce new topics or adequately explain point of views is necessary; otherwise what is the point of putting out a podcast show? If it’s boring and senseless I might just as well make a show recording all the times I brush my teeth during the week.

NFL Playoff Weekend – January 6th & 7th

Good afternoon!

From time to time I do some sports flavored pieces. As I do not really gamble (because I am not good at it or lucky), I do not bet on games (yes, I’m looking at you Pete Rose!). But I do like to guess what I think will happen. So with that nugget of useless info dispensed, listed below is my Tweet to a fellow sports friend of The Go Show Podcast and my opinion of the outcomes of the four games listed. Lotto Mania 2018!!!

Holy moly! Have you checked out the Mega Millions and Powerball Lotto’s? One is $440,000,000 and the other one is ‘only’ $343,000,000! I could probably take the summer off and find myself with that kind of moolah. Incidentally, I am invested in both lotto jackpots. As part of the workplace group and also I have purchased tickets as a solo person. Let’s take a quick look to see how these jackpots would break down in the group setting, as an individual based on the lump sum payouts and also with the 25 year annuity plan. Up first in this tale of the tape is Mega Millions.
