Facebook – 10 Albums in 10 Days Cover Art Challenge

Greetings to everyone! Happy Mid-May 2020!

Some of you may have been involved with or seen this challenge unfold on Facebook. One person challenges 10 ‘friends’ – one per day with a picture attached of an album/CD/cassette that was influential during their musical formative years. I was challenged and began to comply but ultimately messed up by forgetting to post two of the days but I have rectified the situation and hopefully we should now be good. I have attached below the albums I chose – not really in any particular order and not really 100% comprehensive. After all, how can you capture the essence of all that musical wow in just 10 single albums?

For your consideration, I give you my 10 selections as presented on Facebook. Enjoy.

Have a great weekend and into the week! Cheers!

Peace. <<05-17-2020>>

Natty Bumppo Redux

I’m slowly scanning the living room of my home. Nothing. Nothing around me looks anything like my sophomore English classroom of 1987. But yet, here we are. A very small handful of people on social media might remember me from Grandview High School. Of that tiny handful, probably only one or two may have been with me during that fateful day in the fall of 1987.

Shakespeare Lore

So how is everyone doing today? I sometimes get caught up in the leaving tide of weird thoughts. During the prolonged minutes leading up to my slumber one night, somehow, I found myself thinking about Shakespeare – William of course. In years gone by, I remember reading somewhere that William Shakespeare knew about 30,000 words. That’s pretty darn impressive I do says. As I lie there flopping about on the mattress, I wondered how they knew this? Then I deduced that the powers that be must have logically come about this figure based on his published works and the words included therein. Open and closed case. Or is it?

May the Fifth Be With You

Hello and Happy Cinco de Tuesday! For all the Star Wars people with hangovers from yesterday, I shall try not to shout in ALL CAPS. Sorry, just had to show a for example moment instance.

Desktop Picture Purge – April 2020

Every so often I need to clean up my laptop desktop area. In doing so I tend to notice quite a bit has accumulated there. For your review and judgement, I present the most recent weeks worth of clutter. Enjoy. Stay safe out there.

It’s been one week…

That old song by Barenaked Ladies from their Stunt album released in 1998 is running through my head today as I note the one week mark since I was laid off from my job. In some ways the week went very fast and in others…it was painfully slow.

Things I’ve accomplished over the last seven days whilst being confined (mostly) to the home quarters:

  • Showered and put on deodorant daily
  • Vacuumed (once – still counts!)
  • Washed dishes (more than once!)
  • Put on a dress shirt (twice) for video job interviews
  • Sketched and painted a picture for the first time in five years
  • Posted on my blog
  • Ate a healthy breakfast each day (not necessarily in the morning time)

One thing I have learned from my time off is that I need to go back to work soon. Why? Because if I go too much longer here unsupervised, I will gain a significant amount of weight which will require that I purchase new work clothes. Additionally, I am finding waaaaay too many things that I ‘need‘ on Amazon.com and ebay.com in varying genres.

Hopefully everyone is using this time to catch up on the Chuck & Dave Podcast hosted on Soundcloud under The Freak Show Podcast site.

Everyone stay safe, sane and sanitary out there!

Covid-19 Timestop

So over the years of doing my blog, I have sometimes chirped in on trending topics or important occurrences. With the Election Year ‘lockdown’ of 2020 for the Corona virus, how could I not at least put down a bread crumb marker for later? Hopefully the events and tragedies surrounding this version of the virus (Covid-19) are a one-time, once in a lifetime happening. Obviously for those who lost their lives to the virus, it will be but for the rest of us let’s hope to never see this kind of sadness and selfishness again.

Going Viral Down A Spiral

This is how the mighty human dynasty ends…behind a fortress of toilet paper rolls. Our defenses weakly fortified with catapults loaded with sanitized goo? Social media is causing the masses to yip and bolt like my cat Sadie when the house creaks unexpectedly. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Cooking Up Stress

So new year and new stuff. As it is currently winter in this hemisphere, the weather is cold and mostly forbidding to be outside although not as harsh as some years. For most winters I tend to spend quite a bit of time inside…and eating. This year is no different. The scale reading of my weight in Earth pounds backs up this claim most egregiously.

Day 365 – 2019 Edition

Hello! Thank you for dropping in on my tiny slice of cyber-where. This will be my final blog post…this year. I’ve included some rando pictures of silly stuffs. I anticipate much will change in 2020…and some things will not. What will those changes look like, it’s hard to say at the moment. But like most things in life, you can jump into the surf and wade out to meet them or just wait on the shore to see if the repercussions will be impactful.

NYEEE (New Year’s Eve Eve Eve)

Welcome to December 29th! It’s a Sunday with no special circumstances to alleviate the work day forthcoming tomorrow (the dreaded Monday). It’s not New Year’s Eve Eve Eve’s fault. So remember Sunday is still a good thing until about 7-8pm when the mind turns towards the impending tomorrow. Please enjoy the time we have left until Monday poisons the last tidbit of our weekend.

SUNY University – New York: Make An Effort To Make It Right

So back on June 24th, 2019 (the day after my birthday) and twelve days before I had my heart attack, I wrote a piece detailing the horrific experiments done in the hollow name of science on living, breathing and AWAKE cats and kittens. Writing the piece and thinking about the psychopathic practices of a organization touting itself as an institution of higher learning, made me physically ill. I’m not exaggerating or joking one bit either.

Normally I can infuse some levity and silliness into my posts but there was zero to joke about on this topic. The facts pertaining to their experiments and flawed research was something out of a Mary Shelley novel…only cruelly worse. In this day and age of iPad simulations and medical Virtual Reality technology, the thought of so-called ‘educated people’ to still be bumbling along like researcher neanderthals is tragic and shameful.

Link to previous SUNY post

Yesterday I received an e-mail notification regarding an on-line petition I signed protesting SUNY University. The petition update alleged that SUNY University has finally ceased this abhorrent practice that they have been perpetrating for over three decades! I truly hope this is accurate. Now I can shift my focus to try to get the powers that be at SUNY to have a conscience and have them donate food and litter to shelters in need for their cat/kitten populace. I doubt they will have any remorse and aim to make any amends but all I can do it try.

Everyone please love one another and of course your furry friends as we approach Thanksgiving. Check back often for more posts or if you are so inclined, give my podcast (The Freak Show on Soundcloud) a listen.

Halloween Costume 2019

What are you wearing?

Hmm. That came across a bit more creepy than I intended. I just meant, are you wearing a costume for the holiday? I did! See below!

And for giggles, here are some other Halloween costumes over the years. Try to guess the age and who I am just for fun!

Feel free to message me for feedback or if you think of a topic I should tackle!

Cheers! Peace.
