Hello and welcome to my mobile blog! Some people like to think they are above others when maybe they really aren’t. But I can say for sure that I am above all of you! But, that is only because technically I am cruising at like 38,000 feet on an airplane. After my trip last week and about six hours of ‘downtime’ while on flights, I decided to try to utilize my time a little more constructively than just mindlessly staring out into space and playing iPad games. After some readers have read my blog they might argue that those activities are a better use of my time but I shall forge ahead undaunted! Continue reading “Up in the air…”
Hello…is it my blog you’re looking for?
For those of you that sang that in the voice of Adele in your heads instead of Lionel Richie, please stop. For those of you that read it as Morgan Freeman, good choice! Well Done! Bravo! Continue reading “The Freak Show Podcast”
Good morning cyber world! Sounds like a modern age theme park with WIFI and a plethora of digital projection images for as far as the eye can see, doesn’t it? Continue reading “Y2K References”
Just a second. I will be right with you…
(Several minutes later)
Have you been helped?
It’s OK to relax in here, this is a relative cyber safe zone. But out in the social media realms, all is fair in love and posting. As of today, I noticed that the hashtag (#) PitMad was trending again. I noticed another one a while back and tried my hand at posting a blurb with a potential story. As you may have guessed, I received no bites offering me instant wealth or even an inquiry to offer more details. So today I threw out a story that I have had circulating in the back of my mind for quite some time. Continue reading “PitMad … The Twitter Game?”
Hi all! Or hey y’all! Your choice of which you prefer.
So it is once again mildly snowing here in the Show Me State. Tiny little frozen flakes of water are drifting down from the sky…only to disappear once they touch the ground surface. Why am I bringing this up? Because this is like the third or fourth time already this fall (not yet winter) that we have seen some sort of snow-like precipitation. This is quite noteworthy as I think we only managed two or three ‘snowfalls’ last fall and winter combined. The aggregate of those latter snowfalls I think was a centimeter. If you follow my other social media (Facebook, Twitter, podcasts, etc.) then you are probably up to speed on my feelings pertaining to contractors and freelance workers. And when I talk about this situation I cannot stress enough that the things I mention do not extend universally to all contractors and freelance workers. That is a major problem with our society in general these days is that a person will make an observation or statement and immediately those words apply to everyone of a nationality or genre and it simply is unfair and incorrect. Continue reading “Communication is a must!”
It has been awhile since I’ve been continuously awake and alert and intent past the 9pm hour. For months upon months it seems that I’ve just not possessed the energy or the will to engage myself with a real sense of purpose. Over that time it would appear as though I’ve had quite a bit of social media output but if you really look closely, all those likes, shares, memes et al really do not amount to much more than activity. Continue reading “Into the night without a paddle”
So apparently Freddie Mercury really liked cats…this was my take away from the Queen inspired movie Bohemian Rhapsody. Just kidding. Bazinga.
I hope you are having a great start to the month of November. Obviously the term great is relative…so if you had a terrible end to the month of October, perhaps by just having a non-terrible day, that might boost the daily status to great by default.
Anywho, I hope to greatly increase my content over the rest of the month once the wedding is done on the 9th. Unless it goes down like the Red Wedding in Game of Thrones, we should be in a decent place afterwards.
Have a positive week and we shall talk to you soon!
In a recent podcast (The Freak Show on the Podbean app) from this month, I mentioned a “B” horror movie from the early 1980’s featuring thousands of worms taking out their aggression on the human race when a downed power line sends immeasurable amounts of electricity into the wet ground. Little did I know, until I Googled it, but this movie was actually from 1976! Sorry for the inaccuracy!
Hello worldwide readers! Feel free to browse around my blog for a wide-ranging list of topics and interesting perspectives on said topics. As many of you know, I am in the middle of a money drought mostly due to my upcoming wedding in less than four weeks. Then in short order afterwards, Christmas shall be here. Hopefully by February or March I will be able to dig out from under the associated debts for these two events or at least that is my plan. At that time (February-March) I hope to get back in the tattoo chair for some new body art and the blood-letting experience that goes with it.
Good morning! Today is Wednesday, October 17th. Officially today is day number 25 of Autumn or Fall if you prefer. Pumpkin spice everything is all about and the temps are finally in the 40’s-50’s-60’s. The days are getting shorter and trying to escape the warm bed in the morning to stumble about in the darkness to get ready for work is becoming quite the chore. My mental outlook is getting so critical that I’ve started throwing in a couple of dollars to the Mega Millions lotto crazy pool – presently the Jackpot is estimated at $868,000,000 for the Friday drawing. With that kind of money I could finance a Pitbull music video or something as equally frivolous! Continue reading “Blogging during Autumn 2018”
Here we are again friends. To steal a cute little thing from the local St Louis sports people, the panic bus is gassed up and accepting new passengers. Today is Monday, October 8th. My Indians play game three of their series with the Houston Astros today in Cleveland…and if they don’t find a way to win, their 2018 postseason will amount to the same amount of postseason wins as the Baltimore Orioles.
If we could rewind to last year in game three of the Indians first round series (versus the New York Yankees) in New York for a moment please. The scene: My Indians were trailing 1-0 in the sixth inning when Francisco Lindor hit a sure-fire two-run homerun to right center field. There was just one problem. A six foot seven inch problem with a long arm and the ability to jump a little. Of course I’m speaking of Aaron Judge of the Yankees. His defensive thievery cost the Indians two runs and potentially the game and after that who knows. Continue reading “Cleveland Indians: Playoffs Woes and No’s”
Hello and welcome to my blog! Today is Friday, October 5th. Today begins the postseason path for my Cleveland Indians. As always I am hopeful that my team with be blessed with good fortune, as all dedicated fans hope I’m sure. They are pitted against the defending World Champions, the Houston Astros. Right now they have a one in four chance to make it to the World Series from the American League side. If this is to be THE YEAR, they are certainly going to have to earn it. Standing in their way immediately are the Houston Astros (defending champs). If they should advance, they would play the winner of the Boston Red Sox (best team in the regular season) and New York Yankees (3rd best team in the regular season behind Boston and Houston). As tasks go, this one couldn’t get any more daunting. If they survive the gauntlet of 100 win AL teams, then there is the final test in the World Series against the National League representative. The goal is 11 wins and there are no style points. Any of the 8 teams still alive will gladly take any and all ugly wins they can get. To navigate through the Division series into the League Championship series and finally into the World Series takes a team with great fortitude, talent and a little bit of luck. It’s been two years since my Indians were agonizingly close in that 2016 World Series with the Cubs (after blowing a 3-1 series lead). They got to 10 wins that year…this year I am hoping beyond hope that they make it to 11. We shall see.
